Bad Situations

One thing I just can’t stand is how many times I get heartburn in the worst situations. Last time I had heartburn I was skiing on a mountain after eating a large turkey. I couldn’t finish the turkey before skiing so I decided to just finish it whilst going down the slope. When suddenly heartburn hit. I was skiing so well in front of all my friends and then I found myself head in the snow in seconds with a turkey on my head. Everyone was laughing so I guess it was ok. After this happened I said to myself I have to learn how to get rid of heartburn. However I didn’t actually do anything about until the next came along except looking up on the internet briefly to find that apparently mustard did the trick. Also chewing gum was apparently very good. The next time I had heartburn came about when I was in Scotland. I was out to dinner with my girlfriend at the time and it was the night of our proposal. I sat her down in a very fancie restaurant. When she wasn’t looking I tried to slip the ring into her glass when heartburn hit. She turn about around to see me with my hand knocking over both our glasses and some chewing gum in her champagne glass. I must have got the chewing gum mixed up with the ring, easy mistake. So after this dreadful evening I decided I probably should go and check out what could actually save my heartburn because this was getting ridiculous now. I went on the Internet to find that another great remedy to use was baking soda. So I got rid of the gum and used some baking soda from time to time.

The following week I went to my girlfriend’s house who was surprisingly still with me. We were having dinner with her parents. We all sat down and had turkey; this reminded me of the time I was on the slopes. I could feel the heartburn coming on by just the smell of it. So I quickly got out my baking soda and just downed a whole load. Immediately after doing this I was sick everywhere. All over the food, my girlfriend and both her parents. They said to me ‘I think you should know how to get rid heartburn’ and I agreed.

After my third incident I went on the Internet to find as many other cures as I could that would be lying in my kitchen. I came across a few others, which weren’t great, but I thought I’d give them a go. The last one I tried recently was vinegar. It’s not very nice but it tasted good sometimes if I’m in the mood. I won’t be using it outside the house however I already learnt that lesson a few times.

Last time I had heartburn was at my sister wedding, she looked amazing walking down the line. My heartburn struck and I got out the vinegar, everyone started to shout ‘No Jamie No! I dropped the bottle and the vinegar went everywhere.
